We can re-profile any axe head to your specifications.
A common modification on axes is to thin out the bevels as most factory axes come very thick at the bit. This will greatly increase the "bite" of an axe, allowing it to cut deeper and more efficiently.
We also do a flat grind on your carving axe. One such axe that benefits greatly is the Gransfors Bruk Swedish Carving Axe. (Shown in the photo with our flat grind.)
We ground flat one bevel of carving axes. This makes the axe function much better and allows for better cutting and more precision. A left sided flat bevel is used by right handed persons, while right sided flat bevel is used by left handed persons.
All axe re-profiling is done on a professional knife makers belt grinder and temps are kept low as to not damage the heat treatment of your axe.
